We continue to improve our timers. With this release we've improved the Timers window so that you can see all activity Timers AND Matter timers in one place.

We also made it easier to start new timers from the Timer Window.

This was a good step along our Timers journey that included some changes in the Timers Window you use and also some backend changes that will enable even better capabilities regarding Timers in the future.

Now when using the Auto Allocations feature, when allocating to a Matter, you can specify if you want the surplus amount to put in that Matter's Operating Overage account. Surplus amounts can easily be used in future payment allocations.

We've introduced a new Curo365 Approver security role that allows you to separate Approver privileges from Accounting privileges. When they were combined previously, it easily became a difficult decision to give someone the ability to approve, because of all the other things they would then be able to do that is not necessary for them.

Now with the Approver security role in place you can delineate the responsibilities, and the risks associated with them, between Approver and Accounting and assign the roles that match the need much better.

The biggest remaining portion in Curo365 to undergo a renaming is that of Matter Costs. Matter Costs are being renamed to Matter Expenses. 

Like with the other portions we have renamed in the last few releases, no functionality change has occurred regarding this. We simply made some name changes in order to make things more in line with the terminology we here most used and therefore to make the product more intuitive to use without extra explanations.

We've introduced an Effective Start Date on the Interest Configuration so that you can more easily setup your Interest Configurations and have them start exactly when you specify. 

A common use case is if you want to start enforcing a new interest policy on overdue invoices beginning on the first of the year.

Now you can apply retainer payments after an invoice has been approved, but before it is sent out, so that you can then generate the Invoice PDF showing the retainer payment applied to the Invoice before you send it out to the client.

We made some changes to the Invoice Details sections to clarify how all the potential payments, credits, and write offs add up to the totals in the summary section.

BUSINESSES -> ACCOUNTS

FUND ACCOUNTS -> GL ACCOUNTS

These are simply just a couple more name changes we made as we continually look to make Curo365 more intuitive.

BILLS --> INVOICES

BILLINGS --> TIME ENTRIES

Bills have been renamed to Invoices and Billings have been renamed to Time Entries.

These changes may be small, nothing moved, and no functionality changed with it, but we know these changes make things better because it just makes more sense. And when a product is more intuitive, it is easier to use.

We've actually got a couple more upcoming name changes as well. We'll continue to make things better and we want your feedback helping us to things right.

There is a new view for "Matters Eligible for Retainer" that will help you apply retainers to matters easily. This is a better approach where you can see and select the matters to apply retainers to more specifically instead of the previous more blind "Apply All Retainers". 

Also, applying retainers can be done at any time during the month and will be applied to any Invoice that has been approved.

Finally, simplifying how things are handled with the disbursement and allocations has allowed us to keep the invoice clean with a single payment shown to your client.
